HFI steps up on the virtual Davos Gender Equity Lounge stage

On January 19, HFI’s CEO Andrea Feigl moderated a panel of powerful and accomplished female executives at the Female Quotient’s Virtual Davos Equity Lounge. The panel included:

  • Ruchika Singhal - VP of Global Health and Medtronic LABS, Medtronic
  • Zubaida Bai - Managing Director, CARE Social Ventures
  • Myriam Sidibe - Chief Mission Officer, Brands on a Mission

These leaders discussed changing the face of finance, the impact and opportunity they see during the pandemic, and why public-private partnerships are so critical to promote better solutions and solidarity for global health.

They also spoke about the unique challenges for women, with Myriam sharing, “Whatever happens in society, women still play a huge role in raising children. They are constantly on stage performing, both in the home and in their business. Do not clap for women being so strong. Ask yourself, why do they have to be so strong?"

Welcoming new team members: Julissa and Tori

As we begin 2022, the HFI team continues to grow. We are excited to welcome two new team members:

Julissa Rolon is a clinical psychologist with almost a decade of private practice experience. Julissa specializes in care and education for chronic diseases, concentrated in type 1 diabetes. She participates in international groups of advocacy and is a strong believer that education is the best tool to be empowered, she knows there is no single approach that works for everyone living with a chronic health condition, so she continues to educate herself on new technologies, medical devices, pharma, and mental health trends to provide the most comprehensive information for the community.

Tori Berquist is a physician and healthcare consultant currently pursuing her Masters in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School as a Fulbright Scholar. Most recently, Tori worked at the Boston Consulting Group as a Project Leader working with healthcare payers and providers, medtech and pharma across America and Asia. Prior to this, she was an internal medicine resident in Melbourne, Australia. Tori is passionate about improving health equity - in particular, reducing financial barriers to good health for the most vulnerable in our society.
